From East or West, take I-80 to I-81 junction (near Hazleton). Continue North on I-81. From I-81, take Exit 170B (Wilkes-Barre) to Route 309 North, the Cross Valley Expressway.

From Northeast Extension of PA Turnpike, take Exit 36. At the end of the exit ramp, make a left turn and follow Route 115 North to Route 309 North, the Cross Valley Expressway.

Follow the Cross Valley Expressway (Route 309) to the Plains Exit (exit 3 on the Expressway). Make a left turn off the exit ramp onto River Street. Wilkes-Barre General Hospital is approximately 1/2 mile ahead on left, immediately past parking garage.

From the Cross Valley Expressway (Route 309), take the Kingston/Forty Fort exit (exit 4 on the Expressway). Make a left turn off the exit ramp onto Rutter Avenue. Proceed straight through the traffic light. At the stop sign, make a right turn onto Dorrance Street. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Wyoming Avenue. First Hospital Wyoming Valley is on the right in the Nesbitt Memorial Medical Center.

Follow the Cross Valley Expressway (Route 309) to the Kingston/Forty Fort Exit (exit 4 on the Expressway). Make a left turn off the exit ramp onto Rutter Avenue. Continue on Rutter Avenue to Pierce Street. Turn right onto Pierce Street and continue to Wyoming Avenue. Turn left onto Wyoming Avenue and continue through three traffic lights. At the fourth light, turn left onto Northampton Street. The Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion is ahead on right.

If you have an appointment at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, we ask that you allow yourself adequate time to park your vehicle. Two parking garages are located at the General campus: one attached to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for use by patients, visitors and employees; and one attached to our Center for Same Day Surgery (located adjacent to the Hospital) for use by patients and visitors being seen at that facility.

As of January 2008, rates are $.55 per hour with a daily maximum of $5.50. Parking tickets can be validated at Registration or within your physician's office (if you a patient at the Center for Same Day Surgery building).

From the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital parking garage:

Take the elevators located at the South end of the parking garage to the "Red" level.

Exit the elevators and turn left.

Go down hallway past Admissions (glass windows will be on your right).

After Admissions, turn left (sign above you will be for the elevators and stairs).

Go straight down hallway until it ends (teal colored sign for HR will be in front of you).

Follow the winding hallway all the way until you come to the elevators (which will be on your left).

The Human Resources department is located on your right.

Please feel free to walk right in to our reception area.
