Intestinal bacterial overgrowth

Definition:

Intestinal bacterial overgrowth occurs when the normal bacterial population of the gut has been eradicated. This is caused by a variety of disorders. Symptoms include abdominal pain and diarrhea. Severe cases lead to malnutrition.
