An integral part of the Nesbitt Women's and Children's Center at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital is a 12-bed, completely enclosed unit dedicated to the care of pediatric patients. Featuring a child-friendly and family-centered atmosphere, the area is bright and colorful and includes geometric shapes in its decor. A trip to the hospital is far less threatening when children are allowed to do what they do best: play! That's why the Nesbitt Women's and Children's Center includes a playroom featuring games, toys and child-sized furniture.

The highly trained and professional staff is fully certified in pediatric life support and has completed pediatric compliance requirements. In fact, the staff is comfortable taking care of nearly all of your children's special needs – a fact that should raise parents' comfort level with this state-of-the-art facility!

A partnership between Wyoming Valley Health Care System and Penn State Children's Hospital allows for Penn State pediatric specialists to see children at our site located at 540 Pierce Street in Kingston in coordination with Wyoming Valley Health Care System physicians and clinical services staff.
