- 100 total credit hours of CME in the two-year license cycle

American Medical Association Requirements
The American Medical Association Requirements are the same as the
Pennsylvania requirements for medical doctors. Please refer to the
information listed in that section above.
American Osteopathic Association Requirements
- The requirement for membership in the American Osteopathic Association is 120 hours with a minimum of 30 hours in AOA Category 1-A.
- The remaining 90 hours may be satisfied with either Category 1-A, 1-B, 2-A or 2-B credits.
- Your individual CME Activity Report outlines your CME requirements and the amount of credits needed in Categories 1 and 2.
- Physicians who are board certified must earn a minimum of 50 credit hours (Category 1 or 2) in their primary specialty.
- Members who obtain 150 or more hours of AOA approved CME credit in a three-year CME cycle will be given a certificate of excellence in CME.

American Academy of Family Physicians Requirements
- PAFP/AAFP active and supporting members must complete 150 hours of approved continuing medical education every three years, of which a minimum of 25 must be obtained from group learning activities and a minimum of 75 must be prescribed credit. An exemption of the 25 hours of group activity will be allowed for active supporting members who submit evidence that they are proving medical care in a missionary/charitable practice setting in an overseas practice for more than a 12-month period.
